Zollner Electronics expands manufacturing plant in Cartago, Costa Rica

German transnational Zollner Electronics has announced an expansion of its manufacturing plant located in the La Lima Free Zone in Cartago, Costa Rica. The project adds 10,000 square meters of infrastructure and is projected to create approximately 500 new jobs by 2030.

As part of the ‘Zollner Americas 2030’ strategic plan, the company aims to triple its sales during this period. The facility will focus on advanced manufacturing for the aerospace, healthcare, life sciences, and automotive technology sectors. Additionally, the site will transform into a Global Shared Services Center and an Engineering Hub to support the company’s international network, particularly in the United States.

Octavio Matus, General Manager and Site Director for Zollner in Costa Rica, stated that the expansion reflects confidence in local talent and will allow the company to respond more agilely to customer needs in the Americas. Foreign Trade Minister Indiana Trejos noted that the reinvestment sends a powerful message regarding Costa Rica’s capacity to host sophisticated global projects.
