Zoltán Sólyom appointed CEO of Szerencsejáték Zrt
Hungarian Finance Minister András Kármán has announced the appointment of Zoltán Sólyom as the new CEO of Szerencsejáték Zrt., effective October 27. The state-owned gambling operator is one of Hungary's largest companies.
Kármán criticized the previous management of the company, alleging that in recent years, Szerencsejáték Zrt. had become a mechanism for the non-transparent distribution of taxpayer billions to companies linked to political figures, including Antal Rogán, Árpád Habony, and Péter Szijjártó. The Minister stated that the new leadership's primary task is to restore transparency and accountability to the company's operations.
Zoltán Sólyom brings nearly thirty years of experience in the financial and insurance sectors, having founded a prominent corporate insurance consultancy. Since August, he has served on the supervisory boards of both Szerencsejáték Zrt. and Corvinus Nemzetközi Befektetési Zrt.
