Zoltán Tarr visits Hungarian minority communities in Slovenia and Romania
Zoltán Tarr, Hungary’s Minister for Social Relations and Culture, has undertaken a series of visits to engage with Hungarian minority communities in Slovenia and Romania.
In Slovenia, Minister Tarr and Suzana Lep Šimenko, the Slovenian Minister for Cross-Border Slovaks, conducted joint visits to the Prekmurje and Mura regions on October 9. The officials met with local minority organizations, institutions, and community leaders to discuss the continued support of these groups. A key focus of their discussions was the continuation of the Slovenian–Hungarian Joint Fund development programs. The visit included stops at local community centers, a processing unit in Banata, and the Lendva Library.
In Romania, Minister Tarr, accompanied by Deputy State Secretary István Kollai, is conducting a four-day tour of Transylvania. The delegation is visiting several locations, including Oradea, Cluj-Napoca, and Sepsiszentgyörgy, to meet with political leaders, religious figures, and civil society representatives. The stated goal of the mission is to directly assess the needs and experiences of Hungarian communities living abroad to better shape professional cooperation and strengthen cross-border community ties.
