Zombo District to host agricultural trade show and coffee conference
Zombo District in Uganda will host a three-day Agricultural Trade Show and Coffee Conference from November 11 to 13, 2026. Held at the Kyambogo University Paidha Campus playgrounds, the event is organized by the Zombo District Local Government under the theme, “Building a Climate Resilient Agriculture for Sustainable Agro-Industrialisation and Market Linkages for Wealth Creation.”
The conference aims to promote agricultural production, strengthen market linkages, and attract investment. Key commodities to be showcased include coffee, bananas, Irish potatoes, tea, cassava, honey, horticulture, aquaculture, dairy, and small ruminants. Officials noted that the event will address challenges such as climate change, pests, and poor post-harvest handling to improve coffee quality and farmer earnings.
In addition to agriculture, the district intends to use the platform to promote its tourism potential and cultural diversity, specifically highlighting the traditions of the Alur, Kebu, Lendu, and Lugbara communities. The event is expected to facilitate connections between farmers, research institutions, agro-input dealers, processors, and investors.
