Zoncolan region in Italy launches summer nature and WWI heritage excursions

Summer programmes in the Zoncolan area of Carnia combine outdoor recreation with World War I history. Walking routes, botanical tours and bike paths cover the forests of Sutrio, Paluzza, Cercivento and surrounding municipalities, highlighting local flora, wildlife and the remnants of WWI forts.

Guided e‑bike circuits such as the 32‑km “Panoramica delle vette” loop around Monte Crostis and Monte Coglians, while evening walks like “La magia del tramonto sullo Zoncolan” reach the summit of Monte Tamai at sunset. Activities for families include nature‑observation for children, traditional craft walks in Paluzza, and tastings of regional food products.
