Zondacrypto head Przemysław Kral charged in massive fraud investigation

Przemysław Kral, the former head of the cryptocurrency exchange Zondacrypto, has been charged with involvement in a massive fraud. Prosecutors allege the platform was designed to divert investor funds into private accounts. While initial estimates placed losses at 350 million PLN, recent reports suggest client losses could reach as high as 2.4 billion PLN.

Kral has reportedly obtained the status of a ‘small crown witness,’ a legal mechanism in Poland that allows for an extraordinary reduction in sentence in exchange for cooperation and testimony against accomplices. His cooperation may involve providing information regarding the financing of various political and media entities.

The scandal has also implicated Radosław Piesiewicz, President of the Polish Olympic Committee. Media reports alleged that Kral provided Piesiewicz with a Patek Philippe watch worth 40,000 euros and other benefits in exchange for political influence regarding regulatory matters. Piesiewicz has denied these allegations, claiming he is also a victim of Kral’s fraud and presenting documentation to defend his position.
