Zondacrypto investigation sees breakthrough and new suspects

The investigation into the collapse of the Zondacrypto cryptocurrency exchange has reached a critical stage. Minister of Justice Waldemar Żurek announced a breakthrough, noting the emergence of new suspects, new evidence, and individuals willing to cooperate with authorities.

Przemysław Kral, the former president of Zondacrypto, is being represented by lawyers Roman Giertych and Jacek Dubois. Giertych stated that Kral has placed significant assets at the disposal of the prosecutor's office, which, combined with previously secured assets, should be sufficient to compensate all registered victims. There are reports that Kral may be seeking status as a small crown witness.

The case has expanded as the investigation into Zondacrypto has been merged with the inquiry into the 2022 disappearance of BitBay founder Sylwester Suszek. Authorities are examining links between the two entities.

Parallel controversies have emerged regarding political connections. Reports indicate that PiS MP Michał Moskal met with Kral in Ibiza in August 2025. Moskal has defended the meeting, claiming it was a brief discussion regarding potential foundation cooperation in the fintech sector, which ultimately did not result in a partnership. The meeting reportedly occurred in the presence of former CBA officer Artur Chodziński.
