Zong-Che Cheng hits eighth home run in Triple-A pursuit of MLB return

Taiwanese infielder Zong-Che Cheng, currently playing for the Boston Red Sox Triple-A affiliate, has demonstrated strong offensive performance in recent games while pursuing a return to Major League Baseball. Cheng recently declined an invitation to represent Chinese Taipei at the Asian Games to focus on his professional career in the United States.

In a recent matchup against the Lehigh Valley IronPigs, Cheng hit his eighth home run of the season, a two-run shot in the second inning that helped lead the Red Sox to an 8-7 victory. This performance follows another strong outing where he recorded two hits, including a triple, bringing his batting average to .236. His recent surge in extra-base hits, including a season-high number of triples, highlights his improved hitting power and adaptation at the Triple-A level.
