Atatürk University climbs into global top‑10 in multiple sustainability categories

The United Nations‑backed THE Sustainability Impact Ratings 2026 report placed Turkey’s Atatürk University among the world’s top‑10 universities in three sustainability fields, ranked it in the global top‑50 in twelve areas and made it Turkey’s leader in nine categories. The university moved from the 1001‑1500 band to the 101‑200 band worldwide and rose from 43rd to 3rd in the national ranking.

In the same report, Zonguldak Bülent Ecevit University advanced to the 601‑800 global band, entered the world’s top‑200 in Climate Action and secured positions in the top‑300 for Inequality Reduction and Water‑related Life.

Atatürk University also announced new research projects funded by Turkey’s Health Institutes Presidency, covering topics from the impact of apical periodontitis on breast‑milk biomarkers to novel acne‑treatment carriers and alopecia hydrogel therapies.
