Zonguldak Bülent Ecevit University patents vibration‑wheel rescue system

Prof. Dr. Yusuf Aytaç Onur and his students at Zonguldak Bülent Ecevit University have secured a patent for a "Vibration Wheel and Air‑Cushion Support Mechanism" designed to free vehicles stuck in soft terrain such as mud, sand or swamp. The system combines a globally articulated wheel‑arm assembly, hydraulic actuation, an air‑delivery channel and a pressurised air‑cushion that reduces ground pressure and enables the vehicle to move forward under its own power.

The invention was examined by TÜRKPATENT, which found it eligible for registration under Article 98 of the Industrial Property Law. The university’s rector, Prof. Dr. İsmail Hakkı Özölçer, highlighted the achievement as a significant research‑development success for the institution. The patent filing also notes support from Turkey’s Ministry of Industry and Technology.
