Zonguldak Deputy Governor Muammer Balcı dies of heart attack

Muammer Balcı, the Deputy Governor of Zonguldak, has passed away at the age of 57. Balcı suffered a heart attack at his home in Istanbul during a period of annual leave. Despite medical intervention following a report from his family, he could not be saved.

Balcı had recently submitted his retirement petition and was preparing to leave his post. He had served in various administrative roles across Turkey, including positions in Kastamonu, Niğde, Uşak, and Karaman, before being appointed to Zonguldak in 2023.

A ceremony will be held in front of the Zonguldak Governor's Office on Friday, September 25, at 10:00 AM. Following the ceremony, he will be taken to the Amasra district of Bartın for funeral prayers and burial in the family cemetery in Çakrazboz village.
