Zonguldak officials urged to address dangerous pedestrian infrastructure
Adnan Küçükvar, Secretary of the Zonguldak Branch of the All Retirees Association, has called for urgent safety measures following the demolition of the Fevkani Bridge. He criticized the current pedestrian infrastructure, noting that new pedestrian overpasses lack functioning elevators, which creates significant difficulties for the elderly, retirees, and people with disabilities.
Küçükvar specifically highlighted a dangerous situation near the Karaelmas stops, where a pedestrian overpass directs people into the middle of a high-traffic intersection. He warned that the current layout leaves pedestrians vulnerable to vehicles at multiple entry and exit points, increasing the risk of fatal accidents. He urged the Zonguldak Governor's Office, the Zonguldak Municipality, and the General Directorate of Highways to coordinate and implement necessary safety improvements.
