Zonguldak to build 10 dams for Acılık Deresi flood protection

Authorities in Zonguldak are implementing a flood protection project for the Acılık Deresi basin to safeguard the city center from sudden flooding. The project involves the construction of 10 check dams designed to control the flow of sediment and debris.

By managing the movement of materials during floods, the dams aim to prevent the clogging of bridges and culverts downstream. This initiative is intended to complement existing flood protection investments made in the city center since 2020, increasing the region's overall resilience. The total investment for this project is approximately 200 million lira.
