Zontes develops new ZT 903 R three-cylinder naked motorcycle

Chinese manufacturer Zontes is expanding its multi-cylinder lineup with the development of the ZT 903 R, a new naked motorcycle designed to compete in a higher market segment. Design registration images and patent filings reveal a machine featuring a newly developed approximately 875cc inline three-cylinder engine, which is rumored to produce around 135 hp.

Technical specifications indicated in recent reports suggest the ZT 903 R will feature premium components, including an aluminum chassis, a single-sided rear swingarm, and upside-down forks. There are also indications that the motorcycle may utilize Brembo braking systems with radial four-piston calipers. The model is expected to include advanced electronics such as a TFT display, multiple riding modes, and a quickshifter.

This development follows the success of the ZT 703R series, a mid-capacity three-cylinder naked bike. The move signals a strategic shift for Zontes as Chinese manufacturers increasingly move from small-displacement single-cylinder models toward high-performance, multi-cylinder motorcycles aimed at established Japanese and European competitors.
