Zoo Jihlava hosts interactive shark exhibition

Zoo Jihlava is hosting an interactive shark exhibition at the Modeta area, running from October 4 until November 22, 2026. The exhibit features life-sized models of various species, including great white, hammerhead, and tiger sharks, allowing visitors to observe their proportions and skin structures.

To enhance the educational experience, the zoo is utilizing virtual reality to simulate swimming underwater with sharks, a 3D trick art zone, and interactive maps. The exhibition also includes one of Central Europe’s largest collections of shark jaws and teeth, highlighting the biological mechanism by which sharks continuously replace lost teeth. Educational programs titled ‘Under the Surface’ will also be available to explain marine ecosystems.
