Zoo operational building construction begins

Mayor Matthias Renschler has marked the start of construction for a new operational building at the local zoo. The project is part of a broader initiative to modernize the facility, which has been in operation for over half a century.

The new building, measuring 45 meters long and 11 meters deep, is expected to be completed by spring 2028. It will house staff offices, a quarantine station, a feed kitchen, and a ‘zoo school’ designed to provide educational programs for children. The estimated cost for the construction is approximately 2.9 million euros.
