Zoo Rostock to split into two sections due to bridge repairs
Zoo Rostock will be temporarily divided into two separate areas from November 2, 2026, to February 21, 2027, due to urgent bridge renovations on Rennbahnallee. The construction requires the closure of the underpass that normally connects the historical and new sections of the zoo.
To accommodate visitors, the zoo is introducing flexible ticketing options. Single-area day passes for adults will cost 14.50 Euro, allowing guests to choose between the Historical Zoo (featuring the Polarium with polar bears and penguins) or the Wald-Zoo (featuring the Darwineum). A combination ticket priced from 21 Euro will be available for those wishing to visit both areas on two consecutive days.
During this period, visitors moving between the two sections must use public paths outside the zoo grounds. Annual passes will remain valid for both areas and all entrances with no change in price.
