Zoomlion begins disinfection campaign in Ghana's Eastern Region

Zoomlion Ghana Limited has launched a large-scale disinfestation and fumigation campaign across all 33 Municipal and District Assemblies in the Eastern Region. The initiative, which began on August 21, is scheduled to continue until September 30.

Carried out by the company’s Vector Control Unit in collaboration with local assemblies, the exercise serves as a corporate social responsibility measure to mitigate the risk of cholera, malaria, typhoid, and other infections. The intervention follows recent flooding that contaminated environments and increased the risk of waterborne diseases.

Targeted areas include markets, lorry parks, public toilets, and refuse container sites. Regional Manager Cynthia Gbadago noted that the company has also focused on educating residents, particularly market women, on protecting food and drinking water during the process.
