Zoomlion Ghana promises payment of MMDA fumigation workers' salary arrears

Zoomlion Ghana Limited said it will pay all outstanding salary arrears to workers employed under the Metropolitan, Municipal and District Assemblies (MMDA) fumigation project once the delayed government funds are released. The company attributed the payment delay to the late release of funds under the contract, stressing that this situation does not reflect its usual payment practices.

Zoomlion highlighted its 15‑year record of meeting obligations to employees and field operatives, noted ongoing engagement with the Government of Ghana and the various MMDA authorities, and said it has received assurances that the disbursement processes are being finalised. The firm appealed for calm, acknowledging workers' constitutional right to voice concerns, and underscored the importance of their work for vector control and environmental sanitation across the country.
