Zoomlion unveils hybrid tractor technology at Agro Show

At the Agro Show exhibition in Bednary, the Chinese corporation Zoomlion presented four hybrid tractors utilizing MiDD (Meshed Intelligent Direct Drive) architecture. The series includes models 8D410, 8D350, 7D260, and 6D200, with power outputs ranging from 200 to 410 HP.

The MiDD system functions by using the internal combustion engine as a generator to power an electric drive motor, supported by a high-voltage NMC lithium-ion battery buffer. This setup allows the engine to operate within an optimal efficiency range of 1600-2200 rpm, potentially reducing fuel consumption by 10–30% and keeping noise levels below 79 dB. The battery buffer manages sudden power demands during field operations.

Additionally, the exhibition featured specialized equipment from Solis, an Indian manufacturer. Among the smaller implements was the SLMMBP-2, a compact two-furrow plow weighing approximately 90 kg, designed for use with mini-tractors of 20–26 HP.
