Zootopia 3 director to maintain ambiguity of Nick and Judy's relationship

Byron Howard, the director of the Zootopia franchise, has indicated that the upcoming Zootopia 3 will continue to explore the ambiguous relationship between the main characters, Nick Wilde and Judy Hopps.

Since the original film's release in 2016, fans have been divided between those who wish to see the duo become a romantic couple and those who prefer they remain platonic partners and colleagues. Howard stated that the creators do not intend to definitively resolve the nature of their relationship anytime soon, noting, “I think we will continue to lean into that and play with it.”
