Złota Łyżwa program supports 1,500 children in speed skating
The ‘Złota Łyżwa’ (Golden Skate) program is facilitating the development of over 1,500 children in the field of speed skating and short track. Organized by the Polish Speed Skating Association (PZŁS) in collaboration with local clubs, regional associations, and local governments, the initiative aims to increase access to sports regardless of a family's financial situation or geographic location.
The program includes approximately 40 weeks of training per year, with sessions held three times a week. Beyond ice training, the curriculum incorporates roller skating, physical games, and general developmental exercises. To support this growth, the program also provides specialized equipment to clubs and offers training for coaches, instructors, and physical education teachers. PGE Polska Grupa Energetyczna serves as the main partner for the initiative.
