Zottegem and Gistel launch summer cultural festivals in Belgium
The town of Zottegem will host the fourth edition of Vélo Musique on 9 August. The 46‑km cycling route links heritage sites in the Zwalm region and features live musical performances in four locations, offering genres from classical to blues and country. About 380 cyclists are expected to pay a €25 entry fee, which includes all concerts and a food‑truck lunch.
Gistel has opened its 2026‑27 cultural season on 17 September at the Zomerloos leisure centre. The programme combines comedy, music, theatre and talks, with acts such as comedian Moh! and performances by Chris Lomme, Niels Destadsbader and the Q‑Party. The schedule runs through the autumn, culminating in a series of concerts and a literary lecture by Tom Van de Weghe.
Both events aim to bring diverse cultural experiences to local audiences, highlighting community participation and regional heritage.
