Zoya Akhtar confirms early development of Zindagi Na Milegi Dobara sequel

Filmmaker Zoya Akhtar has confirmed that a sequel to the film ‘Zindagi Na Milegi Dobara’ is currently in the early stages of development. Speaking at the Monsoon Film Festival, Akhtar stated, “We are on it,” while noting that the project is not yet guaranteed. She emphasized that the team will only proceed if it feels correct to revisit and catch up with the original characters.

The interest in a follow-up intensified following a 2025 tourism advertisement for Yas Island, which featured the original lead actors Hrithik Roshan, Farhan Akhtar, and Abhay Deol. Akhtar noted that the commercial led many fans to mistakenly believe it was a film trailer, resulting in mixed reactions from viewers.
