Zozo and the Lost Dreams to appear at Tokyo Game Show 2026

Red Dunes Games and Indonesian studio Agate have announced that their upcoming 2D Metroidvania platformer, ‘Zozo and the Lost Dreams’, will have a playable appearance at Tokyo Game Show 2026. The game, currently planned for a 2027 release, is inspired by the aesthetic and energy of Saturday morning cartoons.

The story follows Zozo, a 13-year-old boy who uses a machine built by his neighbor, Professor Aisha, to enter his dreams. After a mysterious incident prevents him from waking up, Zozo must navigate various themed dream worlds to find his way home. The gameplay features a mix of platforming, puzzles, and combat, utilizing a visual style that combines pixel-art characters with rasterized environments.

A key combat mechanic involves a ‘repelling’ system where attacking an enemy can cause them to bounce into others, creating chain reactions similar to pinball or bowling. The developers aim to provide an episodic narrative experience that captures the nostalgic charm of classic animation.
