Zrenjanin to host ‘Tradition of Resistance’ interactive reading

The movement ‘Novi Optimizam’ and Reflektor teatar are organizing a participatory public reading titled ‘Tradition of Resistance’ in Zrenjanin. The event is scheduled for August 30 at 19:00 at KUD Sloboda.

Rather than a traditional theatrical performance, the program is an interactive session based on personal stories, memories, expert lectures, and literature. It aims to explore the history of resistance against repression, violence, corruption, and authoritarianism in Serbia over the last century, including anti-fascist movements. The project seeks to examine how the experience of resistance is passed between generations.

Many of the project's co-authors and researchers are from Zrenjanin, including Branislav Guta Grubački, the founder of ‘Novi Optimizam’. The event is also humanitarian; a recommended donation of 500 dinars will be collected to support Reflektor teatar in building a new theater space.
