Zscaler shares fall despite beating earnings and raising guidance
Zscaler reported quarterly financial results that exceeded Wall Street expectations, though its stock price faced downward pressure following the announcement. The cloud security firm saw revenue grow 25% year-over-year to approximately $719 million. The company also reported annual recurring revenue of $3.77 billion, surpassing estimates.
CEO Jay Chaudhry attributed the performance to the adoption of Zero Trust cloud security architecture and advancements in AI-related technology. AI security bookings reached $100 million over the past year, with a sequential increase of more than 50% during the quarter. Despite exceeding consensus estimates for the upcoming fiscal first quarter and full fiscal year, the stock has faced volatility and a decline of 20% this year, influenced by previous conservative guidance and executive departures.
