ZSSK reports digital ticket sales exceed 66 percent

Železničná spoločnosť Slovensko (ZSSK) reported that digital channels have become the primary method for passengers to purchase travel documents. During the first half of 2026, digital sales accounted for 66.91 percent of all tickets sold.

The mobile application ‘IDeme vlakom’ emerged as the most used sales channel, representing 51.92 percent of total sales. When combined with the company’s e-shop, digital transactions accounted for over 66 percent of sales and more than 62 percent of total revenue. If all electronic platforms are included, digital tickets were used by 71.29 percent of all transported persons.

ZSSK CEO Ivana Piňosová stated that digital purchasing is no longer a supplementary service but the main method used by passengers. The company aims to further simplify and develop these digital tools while maintaining other options for different passenger needs. To encourage digital adoption, ZSSK has implemented surcharges for tickets purchased at counters or on trains.
