Zsuzsa Rakovszky and Anna Ráckevei to receive Szabó Magda Award

Writer Zsuzsa Rakovszky and actress Anna Ráckevei have been named recipients of the Szabó Magda Award. The honors will be presented on October 5 in Debrecen during the MagdaFeszt festival, coinciding with the birthday of the celebrated author.

The award, established in 2023 by Géza Tasi, the legal heir of Szabó Magda, is presented annually to one writer and one performer. Previous literary recipients include Anna Szabó T., Géza Bereményi, and János Háy, while past performers include Sándor Csikos, Kati Egri, and Ági Bánfalvy.

The MagdaFeszt festival, now in its ninth year, runs from September 30 to October 5. The event celebrates the legacy of Szabó Magda and female creators through workshops, concerts, exhibitions, and theatrical productions, including the musical ‘Abigél’ by the Kolozsvár State Hungarian Theatre.
