Zubipean Jazz Festival begins eleventh edition in Navarra

The Zubipean Jazz Festival enters its eleventh edition in Puente la Reina/Gares, Navarra, beginning August 15. The event integrates the cultural heritage of the Camino de Santiago with jazz music, local gastronomy, and regional wines.

On Saturday, August 15, at 20:00, percussionist Jesús Mañeru will perform ‘De Estraperlo’ at the Puente Románico. This personal project features a quintet of prominent national musicians, including Javier Colina and Rita Payés, blending tradition with avant-garde improvisation. The performance is inspired by themes of survival and resistance from the post-war era.

The festival lineup continues on August 22 with pianist Ramón García Lara performing ‘Timeline’ alongside Hilario Rodeiro and Kike Arza. The final performance on August 29 will feature the MünsterLand Trio and Alberto Arteta, presenting a musical journey inspired by the Camino de Santiago.
