Zucchini and top green vegetables praised for health benefits
Zucchini (zucchini) is highlighted as a nutrient‑dense, low‑calorie vegetable that can support digestive and cardiovascular health, aid glycaemic control and weight management, and provide important antioxidants.
A separate nutrition ranking, based on CDC data and analyzing 47 fruits and vegetables, lists the most nutritious green leafy foods. Spinach, kale and mustard greens score highly for vitamins A, C, K and minerals, while other greens such as cabbage leaves, arugula and dandelion leaves also rank strongly. The study notes that these vegetables are linked to reduced risk of chronic diseases, including heart disease, cognitive decline and certain cancers.
