Zuger Polizei young dogs pass major training milestone
Two young police dogs, Tyson and Wera, have successfully passed the 'Junghundeprüfung' (young dog exam) with the Zuger Polizei in Switzerland. This exam serves as a major milestone in their training process, typically occurring when the dogs are approximately one and a half years old.
The assessment evaluates several critical skills, including scent tracking to locate objects or people, obedience under distraction, and systematic searching of terrain and buildings. Additionally, the exam measures the level of teamwork and coordination between the dogs and their handlers.
Passing this exam does not mean the dogs are fully trained for service. They must still undergo further training and pass a final operational exam to achieve full deployment readiness.
