Zuhair Murad unveils Spring 2027 Mediterranean-inspired collection

Designer Zuhair Murad has unveiled his Spring 2027 ready-to-wear collection, titled ‘When the Sun Whispers’. The collection draws inspiration from the Mediterranean coast, moving away from the brand's traditional high-formality couture toward a more relaxed, ‘la dolce vita’ aesthetic.

Key design elements include fluid dresses, flowing fabrics, and a focus on artisanal textures such as crochet, macramé, braiding, and weaving. The palette incorporates colors reminiscent of ancient ceramics and Murano glass, featuring terracotta crepe, chocolate brown, and soft yellows. The designer utilized new techniques to create embroidery that mimics crochet, often finished with beads and tassels.

Silhouettes range from asymmetrical skirts and high-necked trapeze shapes to casual jumpsuits and modernized caftans. Embellishments include motifs inspired by underwater fauna, such as sea anemones, and jeweled fruit embroideries. The collection also expands into accessories, including pouch and envelope clutches, statement earrings, and enameled charm necklaces. Murad is also preparing to open a Paris flagship store in the first quarter of next year.
