Zulia musical groups launch new gaita zuliana projects

Musical groups in Zulia, Venezuela, are introducing new projects that blend traditional gaita zuliana with contemporary styles.

Iluminación Gaita y Show, led by composer Wolfgang Romero, is preparing a new season featuring several musical releases. Recent works include ‘Y después de muerto qué’, performed by Álvaro Villamil and Heberto Villalobos, and ‘La Leyenda del Arcoíris’, featuring Carlos Delgado. The group is also preparing the release of ‘La moneda vieja’ with soloist Eroy Chacín and plans to record a Live Cover in the Santa Lucía sector of Maracaibo in late September.

In Maracaibo, the duo Los Quevedo, consisting of siblings Ricardo and Marian Quevedo, has launched a new musical concept titled ‘El Último Timbre’. Produced by Daniel Pineda, the project aims to fuse pop rhythms with regional traditions. The group expressed aspirations for a Latin American tour and noted the international reach of Venezuelan music due to migration.
