Zulia PNB commissioner detained with cigarette shipment

The Bolivarian National Police (PNB) in Zulia state is under investigation following the seizure of a cigarette shipment found inside an official patrol vehicle. The incident occurred in the Nueva Lucha sector of the Mara municipality when members of the Bolivarian National Guard (GNB) intercepted the unit.

The vehicle belonged to the PNB's Strategic Intelligence Division (DIE). During the inspection, officers discovered several boxes of cigarettes without proper documentation or proof of origin. A commissioner serving as the DIE coordinator for Zulia was detained during the procedure. The official, who was commissioned from Caracas, along with the seized cargo and the patrol unit, has been transferred to Caracas for further investigation.
