Zulia police arrest two men for domestic and sexual violence

Police in Zulia state, Venezuela, have arrested two men in separate incidents involving domestic and sexual violence.

In the municipality of Mara, authorities apprehended 21-year-old Lisandro de Jesús Picón Morán following reports of psychological violence and death threats against his mother. The victim reported that Picón Morán prevented her from entering the family home and threatened to set her on fire. The arrest was made in the El Imperial sector after neighbors alerted the police.

In the Colón municipality, 20-year-old Richard Antonio Jiménez Martínez was arrested in the La Rivera sector for the alleged continuous sexual abuse of his 15-year-old niece. The victim, who was under his care while her parents were abroad, reported that the suspect used coercion and threats of eviction to maintain silence. The arrest followed a report by the teenager and her legal representative.
