Zulkifli Hasan urges Unpatti students to drive food security solutions

Coordinating Minister for Food Affairs Zulkifli Hasan has urged students at Pattimura University (Unpatti) in Ambon to improve their human resource quality to provide solutions for the development of Maluku and Indonesia.

During a public lecture regarding the strategic role of marine and fishery resources in supporting sustainable national food security, Hasan emphasized that universities should serve as spaces for discussing and criticizing government policies. He encouraged students to use scientific knowledge to question the roots of national issues and offer alternative solutions rather than passively accepting policies.

Hasan also highlighted the importance of youth involvement in strengthening national food security, noting that the food sector directly impacts the livelihoods of farmers, livestock breeders, and fishermen. He stated that achieving food self-sufficiency is a vital step toward increasing the welfare of those working within the food sector.
