Zulu King Misuzulu criticizes exclusion from SADC Summit

Zulu King Misuzulu kaZwelithini has expressed significant frustration regarding his exclusion from major regional events held in his province, specifically the 46th Southern African Development Community (SADC) Summit hosted in Durban.

Speaking at the eMachobeni Royal Palace during the annual Zulu Reed Dance, the King stated that the South African government continues to host international gatherings in KwaZulu-Natal without inviting him. He argued that as the custodian of the land, his exclusion is disrespectful, particularly when discussions involve minerals, development, and resources linked to traditional communities.

The King revealed that he had considered sending Zulu regiments to disrupt the SADC summit due to being sidelined from discussions affecting his territory. He also noted that international diplomats, including an official from Nigeria, had expressed confusion and interest in meeting him during their visit to South Africa.
