Zungri hosts Echi di Pietra musical and experiential workshops

The Associazione Musica Cultura e Spettacolo “G. Verdi” will host “Echi di Pietra – Laboratori esperienziali e musicali” at the Grotte di Zungri rock settlement on October 30 and 31. The event, co-financed by the Calabria Region, aims to blend history with music through various workshops.

On Friday, October 30, master Pasquale Lorenzo will lead a workshop on the construction and history of traditional Calabrian instruments, including the zampogna, organetto, tamburello, and lira calabrese. On Saturday, October 31, Francesca Cristofalo and Benedetta Larosa will conduct a workshop focused on creating musical instruments from recycled materials, emphasizing environmental education and the circular economy.

The program includes students from the Istituto Comprensivo Rombiolo, San Calogero, and Cessaniti, as well as youth from the Zungri Parochial Oratory. Musical performances spanning medieval, traditional, classical, and modern styles will accompany the activities.
