Zurich Airport and SWISS win World Travel Awards
Zurich Airport and Swiss International Air Lines have received major industry recognition at the 2026 World Travel Awards.
Zurich Airport has been named Europe’s leading airport for the 23rd consecutive year. The award, determined by votes from travel industry professionals and passengers, recognizes the airport's infrastructure and service quality. Additionally, two hospitality and conference facilities within the adjacent ‘The Circle’ complex were also honored. While the airport faces operational challenges such as capacity constraints and staffing shortages, passenger numbers in summer 2026 approached pre-pandemic levels.
Swiss International Air Lines (SWISS) was awarded the title of ‘Europe’s Leading Airline – Business Class’ for the second year in a row. The airline attributed the success to its staff and its ‘SWISS Senses’ initiative, which aims to enhance long-haul travel through increased comfort and personalization.
