Zurich Airport Charity Water initiative raises CHF 164,000

Zurich Airport’s Charity Water initiative raised CHF 164,024 for the Schweizer Tafel foundation between January and May 2026. The project is a joint operation between Zurich Airport Ltd. and travel retailer Avolta.

Since 2014, the program has sold Swiss mineral water at duty-free locations for CHF 2.50 per bottle, with CHF 0.50 from each sale donated to a rotating selection of Swiss charitable organizations. Schweizer Tafel, which distributes surplus food to social institutions, was the beneficiary for the first five months of 2026. In 2025, the foundation rescued over 8,500 tonnes of food.

As of June 2026, the proceeds from the initiative are being directed to the Zurich-based Werkstätte Drahtzug Association, an organization that supports the professional and social integration of individuals with mental health conditions.
