Zurich Insurance Group completes acquisition of Beazley Plc

Zurich Insurance Group has completed its acquisition of Beazley Plc, creating what the company describes as the world’s largest insurer in specialized risks. The combined entity will be headquartered in London, utilizing the city as a primary hub for its global specialty activities.

Zurich Group CEO Mario Greco stated that the integration into the Global Specialty division is intended to accelerate growth and provide new solutions to existing clients. The company has set specific financial targets for the integration by 2029, including an additional annual revenue growth of more than $1 billion and annual cost savings of at least $150 million. Additionally, the merger is expected to generate a one-time capital release of at least $1 billion within the first two years.

Following the transaction, Kristof Terryn is set to be appointed CEO of Beazley and Zurich Global Specialty, subject to regulatory approval. Adrian Cox will depart Beazley as the organization enters this new phase. Zurich has scheduled an Investor Day for November 17, 2026, which will focus on the integration strategy, capital allocation, and the progress of the merger's performance targets.
