Flughafen Zürich reports record half-year profit despite stock decline
Flughafen Zürich AG reported record half-year results for 2026, achieving its highest-ever semester profit. Revenue rose 5 percent to 673.6 million Swiss francs, driven by strong demand in both flight operations and non-flight sectors, including real estate and retail.
Despite the record performance, the company's stock fell by over 7 percent as results slightly missed financial community profitability expectations. The net profit saw only a 1 percent increase to 163.7 million Swiss francs, a growth rate tempered by higher depreciation and financial expenses related to the opening of the new Noida Airport in India.
CEO Lukas Brosi noted that while geopolitical tensions and the conflict in the Middle East impacted some traffic, strong domestic travel in Switzerland helped offset these declines. CFO Kevin Fleck indicated that the ramp-up of operations at the Noida facility has been slower than investors anticipated due to regional instability.
