Zurich municipalities announce peace judge elections for 2027

Municipalities in the Canton of Zurich are preparing for upcoming elections for the position of peace judge for the 2027–2033 term.

In Glattfelden, the first round of voting is scheduled for February 28, 2027. Candidates must be proposed by at least 15 eligible voters. In Gossau ZH, the peace judge elections will coincide with a by-election for a member of the audit committee (RPK) following the resignation of Fred Käser due to health reasons.

Both municipalities utilize a silent election procedure; if only one candidate meets the legal requirements, they are elected without a public vote. If multiple candidates are proposed, a ballot election will be held on February 28, 2027.
