ZUS reports 10.8 billion PLN distributed via Active Parent program

The Social Insurance Institution (ZUS) has released a summary of the ‘Active Parent’ program, also known as ‘babciowe,’ which aims to help parents balance professional life with childcare. Since the program's launch in October 2024, ZUS has processed approximately 1.2 million applications covering 1.22 million children, resulting in 8.74 million individual payments totaling over 10.8 billion PLN.

The program offers three distinct benefit options for parents of children aged 12 to 35 months:

• ‘Active in Nursery’ (Aktywnie w żłobku): The most popular option, with 442,000 applications for 449,300 children. This provides up to 1,500 PLN monthly (increasing to 1,900 PLN for children with disabilities) to cover nursery or daycare costs.

• ‘Active at Home’ (Aktywnie w domu): Received 387,800 applications for 395,400 children, providing 500 PLN monthly for parents staying at home with their child.

• ‘Active Parents at Work’ (Aktywni rodzice w pracy): The least utilized option, with 371,900 applications for 379,200 children, offering 1,500 PLN to help fund nannies or family care while parents work.
