Poland proposes 4,950 PLN minimum wage for 2027

The Polish government has proposed a new minimum wage for 2027, set at 4,950 PLN gross per month, with a minimum hourly rate of 32.30 PLN. This represents a 3% increase from 2026 levels. The proposal follows a failure to reach an agreement in the Social Dialogue Council, where trade unions like NSZZ Solidarność had requested a higher rate of at least 5,200 PLN.

Related to labor costs, severance pay for employees will also rise in 2027 due to the minimum wage adjustment.

In the pension sector, ZUS simulations indicate that delaying retirement by five years could increase monthly benefits by up to 80%. Meanwhile, discussions continue regarding the 14th pension payment and the challenges faced by seniors with low insurance seniority, some of whom receive monthly benefits below 100 PLN. Additionally, a tax relief for working seniors allows for income up to 85,528 PLN to be exempt from PIT under certain conditions.
