ZUS begins distributing 14th pension payments in Poland
The Social Insurance Institution (ZUS) has begun distributing the 14th pension in Poland for September 2026. This additional benefit is paid automatically alongside regular pensions and disability benefits without requiring a separate application.
In 2026, the full 14th pension amount is 1,978.49 PLN gross, which matches the minimum pension. Recipients whose primary pension does not exceed 2,900 PLN gross are eligible for the full amount. For those with higher pensions, the benefit is reduced according to the ‘złotówka za złotówka’ (zloty for zloty) principle, where every zloty earned above the threshold reduces the extra payment by one zloty. If the calculated benefit falls below 50 PLN gross, no payment is made.
Due to the calendar layout in September 2026, some payments are being accelerated. Because certain payment dates fall on Sundays, ZUS is transferring funds to banks earlier to ensure they reach beneficiaries before the statutory deadline. Additionally, new income limits for working pensioners and disability recipients will take effect in September 2026, influenced by changes in the national average monthly wage.
