ZUS warns of high fees charged by intermediaries for disability benefits
The Social Insurance Institution (ZUS) has issued a warning regarding paid intermediaries targeting individuals seeking disability support benefits. Some entities are offering assistance with formalities for fees that can exceed 20,000 PLN, despite the fact that the entire application process can be completed free of charge through official channels.
Reports indicate that some representatives have visited people with disabilities in their homes or used social media to promote these services. In some cases, they have sent letters containing ready-to-sign contracts and power of attorney forms. ZUS advises citizens not to sign such documents without careful consideration and reminds them that employees are available to provide free assistance with applications. If fraud is suspected, the police should be notified.
