ZVL-1886 launches fundraiser for community AED in Leiden

The Leiden swimming and water polo club ZVL-1886 has launched a fundraising campaign to install a community Automated External Defibrillator (AED) at its clubhouse on Paramaribostraat.

Initiators, including club members and local residents, aim to provide 24/7 access to the device for both athletes and neighbors. Currently, there is no AED available within a 500-meter radius of the Waterkeet area. Once purchased, the device will be registered with the HartslagNu resuscitation call system, allowing citizen responders to be alerted during emergencies.

Fundraising is being conducted via the Hartstichting platform, BuurtAED.nl, to ensure the device is placed on the exterior of the clubhouse for maximum accessibility.
