Zvonko Vrban testifies on alleged judge-Mamić connections
Zvonko Vrban, the former president of the Osijek County Court, testified at a Zagreb court regarding alleged connections between judges and businessman Zdravko Mamić. Vrban detailed conversations with Ivan Turudić, the current State Attorney General, in which Turudić reportedly questioned Vrban about the activities of certain judges.
According to Vrban's testimony, Turudić mentioned that judge Zvonko Vekić had vacationed in Dubai with Mamić and that judges Kvesić and Vekić had been with Mamić in Međugorje. Vrban also stated that Turudić informed him that judge Darko Krušlin had danced with Mamić's wife at a celebration in Buševac, a detail Vrban claims was later confirmed by Marina Mamić.
The trial involves several former judges, including Darko Krušlin, Zvonko Vekić, and Ante Kvesić. USKOK, the Croatian anti-corruption office, alleges that Mamić provided Vekić with at least 370,000 euros.
